K. C. FLYERS AN
ACATHLETIC ® CLUB
The goals of The Flyers Track Club are simple, yet critical to youth developing into positive contributors to society. We first want to provide youth the opportunity to learn and appreciate track & field through guided instructions. However, track & field is a vehicle to meet the Club's two primary goals: (1) helping youth develop self discipline and self confidence through goal setting and goal achievement; and (2) with the self confidence and discipline learned, inspire youth to apply these attributes to enhance academic achievements. That is why the K.C. Flyers Track Club is referred to as an Acathletic club, and why club members are referred to as Acathletes.
An Acathletic club because, the term Acathletic,” emphasizes the relationship between academics and athletics. An Acathlete is an individual who participates in organized athletics and who is committed to academic achievement; one who seeks to further academic goals through athletic involvement.
An Acathlete seeks to become a whole person, for the race is not always to the swift, but to those who stay the course.
